What works for lack of confidence?

If only you had more confidence, how would your life be different?

Lack of confidence, fear of failure, performance anxiety, self-doubt have all the same ground - lack of confidence. When I’m asked about how to improve self-confidence and what to do, I'm  not going to repeat the same old stuff everyone’s heard a million times before:

  • focus on doing visualization,

  • self-hypnosis,

  • positive affirmations,

  • challenging negative thoughts,

  • relaxation techniques,

  • self esteem boosting,

  • or ‘fake it till you make it’ strategies and so on. Why? Because these strategies DON'T WORK in a long term!

Instead, I like to show why it’s not your fault that what you’ve been trying what isn’t working. You may have thought:

  • that you weren’t trying hard enough,

  • that you weren’t doing it properly,

  • or that you weren’t thinking positively enough

  • or practicing relaxation techniques intensively enough, and so on.

It’s important to realize that these strategies often give us relief from anxiety, fear and self-doubt in the short term, they don't give genuine confidence in a long term.

Visualization, self-hypnosis, positive affirmations, challenging negative thoughts, relaxation techniques, self-esteem boosting, or ‘fake it till you make it’ strategies WILL NOT WORK

My solution number 1:Increase awareness of What your mind is doing? Notice how it’s REACTING and what it’s TELLING you. The ability to notice your own thought process is an important psychological skill. My solution number 2:Then use this awareness to engage into developing a mind-set known as psychological flexibility - a powerful mental state that enables you to respond effectively to fear, anxiety and self-doubt. We want confidence to help us achieve our goals, follow our dreams or perform better in different domains of life, such as sport, business, music, public speaking, parenting, socializing. So IT’S NOT ONLY TO FEEL BETTER, BUT TO LIVE THE LIFE YOUR WAY.That’s why confidence is so important to us and plays key ingredient in happiness journey. Yours,Beata
