Aren't you too perfect?

Drew Barrymore one said “When things are perfect, that's when you need to worry most.”

When did you first started having doubts about your perfectionism? Was it out of the blue or it was planted in your mind externally? Was it helping you? How does perfectionism affect you?  Ask yourself these few questions and observe your mind's reaction (especially the critic voice)

  • What are some inner beliefs and expectations that have lead me to being a perfectionist?

  • What do I fear and what am I anxious about that leads to me being a perfectionist?

“The most dangerous way we sabotage ourselves is by waiting for the perfect moment to begin. Nothing works perfectly the first time, or the first fifty times. Everything has a learning curve. The beginning is just that - a beginning. Surrender your desire to do it flawlessly on the first try. It's not possible. Learn to learn. Learn to fail. Learn to learn from failing. And begin today. Begin now. Stop waiting.” - Vironika Tugaleva

  • How is my perfectionism influenced by my environment, role models, and outside expectations?

  • When did my perfectionism first get started?

  • When did my perfectionism get worse? And when was my perfectionism at its worst?

  • In what areas of my life does my perfectionism show up the most?

"And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good." - John Steinbeck
