Fight for yourself or don’t

CATEGORY: , , , 08.03.18

Once again, one of my client told me ‘I want to fight for myself’. And that sounds powerful but the question appears, why it doesn’t motivate the client to make the change happen?

Well, the saying that ‘great man is who fights till the end’ or those common motivational quotes such as ‘never give up’ or ‘fight for your dreams’ are one of the most sabotaging sentences we can give ourselves.

Psychology proves that the fight is not a good process.

In contrast, self-awareness and process of change, are.

Sometimes you have to stop fighting to show yourself respect, to gain more insight into what works, what doesn’t and what adjustments can be made.

Appreciate who you are. Change what you can change. Do not throw words to the empty space. Respect word and gesture, to yourself and others. Do good, just like that (without a reason).

And when someone asks why? reply because I can.

Because I have eyes to see

Because I have a heart to feel

Because I’m here to experience

Because I know my strength

Because I know my weakness

Because I know myself

Because I can, and I can do it now.

and

Because I don’t have to fight to be myself, to live the life I want and to overcome struggles.
